Health Benefits of Body Work
Support for Medical
Conditions
Has your Veterinarian diagnosed your dog or cat with arthritis or muscle injuries? Does your dog or cat seem to have trouble moving the way they used to? Body work using massage, trigger point therapy, and passive movement exercises has shown improvement in circulation, relaxing tight or injured muscles, and reducing tissue bindings. The various methods I use are custom designed to bring the most recovery
for your pet.
Healthy Maintenance
Body work isn’t just for recovery; it helps to keep healthy bodies in top condition. Whether your puppy is an active swimmer or your cat prefers to lie about, soaking up the sun from the couch, all animals benefit from regular body work. Massage helps keep skin and muscle tissue hydrated for free movement over their bones and acupressure reinforces the natural rhythm of body systems like the immune and endocrine systems.
Emotional Balance
An added benefit of body work is the deep relaxation dogs and cats gain from the custom plan, tailored specifically to how they want to receive work. Acupressure points address more than just physical concerns; it can also adjust over-stimulation and
anxiety.
More Information About
Kristen
I have always felt a deep connection to animals with a passion for their
well-being, dating back to my childhood. I was inspired during my time in the veterinary industry by an integrative DVM, practicing many holistic techniques that focused on whole wellness. I learned that focusing on every aspect of lifestyle is crucial for a long, happy, healthy life.
I was inspired to acquire my certification in small animal massage and bring this to the many pets in Roanoke, Botetourt, and surrounding areas. As a mobile practitioner, I bring my services directly to your dog or cat in their most comfortable environment, ensuring personalized care while minimizing their stress.
I am trained in Swedish and Chinese massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, touch techniques, and acupressure. As a member of IAAMB, I continue to improve my skills and knowledge through a community of like-minded practitioners.
Every pet gets a personalized plan for every session as my philosophy is to let them lead. If they aren’t interested or resistant to body work on a particular day, there is a nominal travel fee, and we can reschedule a session for a different day.
